Miserable Cat
Copyright 2004 Kenny Shore

When he lived down South
He had a great big house
He chased birds and squirrels
And an occasional mouse
He came and went at will
Played with his cat friend Bill

But now he lives in "the City"
And he's a miserable cat
He lays around all day
And he's getting real fat
All he does is eat
And dream of "Easy Street"

When he was back at home
He would go next door
And the neighbors would greet him
With albacore
Then they'd pick him up and kiss him
Ah, he couldn't ask for more

chorus
Now he's clawing the couch
And climbing the shades
He's up at 3 a.m.
'cause he slept all day
and his biggest thrill
is sitting on the window sill

he sits on that sill
and watches people go by
but when they stop to pet him
he runs in and hides
he's scratching New York fleas
he's learning Portugese
